Channel letters are fabricated, three-dimensional letters mounted individually to a building. They're the gold standard for storefront and building ID because they look like part of the architecture, not stuck-on signage.
Three illumination configurations: front-lit (the face glows), halo-lit (back of the letter glows onto the wall behind it), and non-illuminated (solid metal or painted letters with no LED). Each one is engineered differently — and the right choice depends on the wall surface, the building style, and the time of day your customers visit.
We've installed channel letters on storefronts (Cicero Lofts, Inzombia Coffee), institutional buildings (Rock Valley College Health Sciences), and multi-tenant pylons. Permitting, engineering, fabrication, and install are all handled in-house.

How CorPro produces and installs channel letters & building signs.

Site survey + permit
We measure the wall, check setback and zoning, photograph context, and pull the sign permit through your municipality.
- 02
Engineering + fabrication
Each letter is engineered for the wall substrate. Returns are bent in our shop, faces are CNC-cut, LEDs are wired and tested before the letters ship.
- 03
Pattern install
Our lift-equipped crew brings a laser-aligned pattern, drills the wall, and sets each letter individually. Electrical hookup is coordinated with your facility electrician.
- 04
Inspection + sign-off
We coordinate the sign inspection with your municipality. You get an as-built drawing and warranty documentation.

- Front-lit letters glow through the acrylic face — high visibility at night, the standard for retail. Halo-lit letters are solid on the face and glow out behind the letter, creating a halo on the wall — more architectural, more upscale, but the wall has to be light-colored and smooth to reflect the glow.
- Channel letter installs on existing buildings: typically 4–6 weeks from approved artwork. Most of the lead time is permitting; fabrication is 3 weeks and install is a day. Weather affects exterior install scheduling November–March.
- Yes. We pull the permit, submit the engineered drawings, and coordinate inspection. The permit cost is itemized separately — we don't mark it up.
- Channel letter mounting requires anchor holes (typically ⅜ inch) sized to the letter and wall substrate. Holes are sealed with color-matched caulk. When letters come down (rebrand, replacement), holes are patched and the wall is touched up.
