Overview

ADA-compliant signage is one of the few signage categories where the spec matters more than the design. ANSI/ICC A117.1 is precise about character height, stroke width, braille position, contrast ratio, and mounting height — and an inspector will check.

We handle the spec end-to-end. Every interior package we install includes ADA documentation: drawings showing each sign location, mounting height, character height, and braille translation. Useful for inspection, accreditation, and future facilities work.

On the dedication side, cast bronze and aluminum plaques are how civic, school, and donor projects acknowledge the people behind them. Tinley Park's dedication plaque is a recent example — full village board, trustees, fire department staff, and the village seal cast in bronze.

Our process

How CorPro produces and installs ada, dedication & donor plaques.

  1. 01

    Schedule + compliance audit

We audit the building's sign schedule against the current ANSI/ICC standard. Most existing buildings have one or two pieces that miss the spec — we flag those before quoting the new work.

  2. 02

    Drawing + braille translation

Every ADA piece gets a fabrication drawing showing character height, braille translation, mounting height, and contrast spec. Drawings are documented and stored for future facilities reference.

  3. 03

    Fabrication

Photopolymer plates are produced in-house; cast bronze runs through our long-standing fabrication partner. Both go through QC against the original drawings before shipping to install.

  4. 04

    Install + documentation

Our installer brings the mounting drawings and verifies every sign is at the correct height before adhering or anchoring. The facilities team gets a final install package documenting each sign.

FAQ

ADA, Dedication & Donor Plaques — common questions.

Not seeing your question? The fastest way to get an answer is the quote form — we usually respond within a business day.

Will inspectors actually check ADA signage?
For new construction and certificate-of-occupancy work, yes. For accreditation reviews (Joint Commission, school district facility audits), also yes. We document compliance specifically so you have the paper trail.
What's the lead time on cast bronze dedication plaques?
6–10 weeks. Cast bronze is patternmaking + foundry work + finishing — there's no compressing it. For a ribbon-cutting deadline, start the conversation as early as you can.
Can we add names to a donor wall later?
Yes — that's why modular donor walls exist. We install the framework with a defined naming-plate format, then produce additional plates as gifts come in. The wall scales without re-installing the base.
